Nexloop expands its FTTO network to 4 new French metropolitan areas
A subsidiary of Cellnex Telecom, the fiber optic and data center infrastructure operator founded in 2020 continues to expand its regional footprint, with the ambition of becoming, in the long term, France’s 3rd largest neutral and independent fiber infrastructure network. A goal well on its way to being achieved.

Paris, March 13, 2023. The company, whose main activity is the commercialization of its fiber optic infrastructure network and numerous regional collection sites, has just announced the launch of its FTTO (Fiber To The Office) offer in the metropolitan areas of Strasbourg, Aix/Marseille, Montpellier, and Orléans!
With this new deployment, more than 17,000 km of fiber optic cables have now been installed, including 16,000 km of metropolitan loops across France. Nexloop—several months ahead of its initial schedule—now covers the 70 largest French metropolitan areas, providing access to fiber optics for service providers, system integrators, businesses, and local authorities, helping them accelerate their digital and technological transformation.
To successfully carry out this project and “boost” 5G adoption throughout France, the company is investing over one billion euros to deploy its national fiber optic and edge data center network — a network further reinforced by a strong local footprint. In this effort, Nexloop relies on the expertise and know-how of its parent company, Cellnex Telecom, a major international operator specializing in telecom infrastructure (3,000 employees, €3.5 billion in revenue in 2022, and operations in a dozen European countries).
Laurent Lhermitte, Sales Director at Nexloop, explains: “With unmatched network coverage and a number of local data centers unparalleled in France, Nexloop aims to become, within the next two years, one of the key players in the market by supporting as many operators as possible, both French and international.”
In practical terms, Nexloop now offers its clients three types of services:
- FON — point-to-point dark fiber,
- FTTO — active, dedicated fiber,
- Hosting (through its network of local data centers).
Next step
The company’s goals are deliberately ambitious: in the coming months, Nexloop aims to offer more than 31,000 km of fiber network coverage, reach 76 metropolitan areas, and operate 130 national and local data centers — with the long-term objective of becoming France’s 3rd largest neutral and independent fiber infrastructure network.
Laurent Lhermitte concludes: “The rapid growth of our business is the strongest validation of our strategy, which is based on deploying our own high-performance fiber optic infrastructure. It also reflects the trust placed in us by our local, regional, and national partners when it comes to providing their clients with dark fiber and FTTO services — not to mention the hosting solutions available across the entire country.”
